Maria Lockington

Kia ora, Ko Maria Lockington toku ingoa. I hail from the cool little town of Hokitika on the West Coast of the South Island. Currently, I am studying towards a Diploma in Primary Teaching which has been a goal for several years. My background is in the dairy industry where I have worked as a Consulting Officer for DairyNZ facilitating discussion with farmers and a tutor for Primary ITO. Together with my husband, we have 3 school-aged children. I am passionate about learning for my students, my family and myself. We are all lifelong learners. I believe that the foundation for learning is building and sustaining healthy, respectful and open-minded relationship with each student and their families and providing a safe, nurturing and inspiring learning environment. I love getting out and about in the beautiful environment God has given us on the West Coast with my family, and particularly enjoy beach and bush walks, photography, biking and gardening.
